There's never a dull moment in the Harbour City. Following a stellar calendar of events this year (WorldPride in summer, and Vivid and FIFA World Cup in winter), the NSW capital is gearing up for spring with the Sydney Fringe Festival (September 1-30).

Highlights of the month-long event range from The Marvellous Elephant Man the Musical (from September 1-October 1 at the Sydney Spiegeltent) to free piano recitals you can witness at George Place in the CBD every Monday morning in September. sydneyfringe.com
